Trusted Games Index · Canada
Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Trusted Games Index handles information when you read our independent guide to entertainment game platforms, contact our editors, or choose a browser preference. It applies to trustedgamesindex.com and is effective 20 October 2026.
1. Operator and privacy contact
Trusted Games Index is an independent entertainment game comparison guide for Canadian readers. We publish practical editorial information about game sites, their features and the considerations that can help a player choose an entertainment platform. The guide does not provide wagering services or operate the third-party games it discusses.
For a privacy question, correction request or concern about information you have sent us, email [email protected] with “Privacy request” in the subject line. You may also write to Trusted Games Index, 150 Metcalfe Street, Ottawa, ON K2P 1P1, Canada, or call +1 587 555 0724. Our editorial contact hours are Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00 Eastern Time, excluding Canadian public holidays. Email is the most useful channel for a request that needs a written reply.
2. Information used on the site
Reading public pages does not require an account. When you submit an enquiry form, the fields are your name, email address, subject and message. The form sends a POST request to the site’s acknowledgement page at /success. The current PHP page displays that acknowledgement but does not save or transmit the submitted contents to an application database or email service. If you want a reply, contact our published support address directly; information in that separate email correspondence is handled by the mailbox as described below.
Our consent control stores a preference in your browser’s local storage. The site uses the key trustedgamesindex_consent_v1 for the selected choice and may also use the site_cookie_consent cookie for the same necessary preference. The cookie is set for 31,536,000 seconds. These entries remember your choice; they are not advertising profiles. Searching the site runs in your browser and does not create a search account.
Like most websites, the hosting service may receive technical request details needed to deliver a page, such as an IP address, request time, requested URL and browser user-agent. Such records depend on the hosting environment and are used for service operation and fault or abuse investigation. We do not add behavioural analytics or advertising trackers to this guide.
| Category | Examples | Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| Enquiry | Name, email, subject and message entered in a form | Reader; site form | Show the acknowledgement page; no application retention is implemented |
| Browser preference | Consent choice in local storage and the consent cookie | Trusted Games Index | Remember the selected privacy choice |
| Technical request | IP address, time, URL and user-agent that may appear in host logs | Hosting operation | Deliver pages and investigate faults or abuse |
| Contact details and the text of a message you send | Reader and editorial mailbox | Answer a question, privacy request or correction |
3. Why information is used
We use only the information connected to an identifiable task. Technical request details help the site serve pages and let the responsible operator investigate a service fault or suspected abuse. The browser preference lets the consent interface remember your selection between visits. If you email the editors, we use your address and message to understand and answer the question, assess a proposed correction, or respond to a privacy request.
We do not sell personal information, create inferred gaming profiles, or plan behavioural advertising. A message may mention a game or publisher, but we do not use that detail to build a profile about your interests. Please avoid including sensitive details that are not needed to explain your request.
4. Consent and applicable privacy rules
We aim to follow applicable Canadian privacy requirements and fair information-handling principles, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) where it applies. Which law governs a particular activity can depend on the activity and jurisdiction; this policy does not claim that one statute applies universally to every reader.
Basic page delivery and remembering a choice are necessary for the requested site experience. The preference storage described above records a choice you make and does not enable optional tracking. Optional analytics are not planned. If you choose to email us, your message is handled to respond to that communication. You can withdraw an optional choice through the footer’s Cookie settings control or contact support about a correspondence you initiated. Clearing browser storage also removes the locally saved preference, so the choice interface may appear again.
6. Retention and deletion
The PHP application does not retain form contents submitted to /success. A browser preference remains in local storage until you clear it or site code changes it; the consent cookie has a stated duration of 31,536,000 seconds and may be removed through browser controls or when it expires.
For editorial email handled by the operator, our working retention policy is to delete ordinary enquiries within 90 days after the matter is resolved. A correction decision may be retained for up to 12 months to maintain an accurate editorial record, with unnecessary contact details removed where practical. We set a target of up to 30 days for routine technical logs, except where a longer period is needed to investigate abuse or comply with a legal obligation. Actual log availability and deletion depend on the hosting service’s operation; we do not claim that the page itself controls those logs.
When a purpose ends, we delete, de-identify or securely dispose of information where practical, unless continued retention is justified by a legal duty or a documented operational need. You can ask us to review a particular correspondence using the contact details above.
7. Safeguards
We take proportionate steps for a small editorial guide: mailbox access is limited to responsible staff, copied personal details are kept to what is useful, and retained correspondence is reviewed against the periods in this policy. Access to operational services is restricted according to their role. These practices reduce unnecessary exposure but cannot eliminate every risk associated with email, networks or online storage.
No online system can guarantee absolute security. Please do not send payment card numbers, passwords, identity documents or other sensitive material in a general enquiry. If you believe a message reached us in error or you have a security concern, contact support and describe the issue without repeating sensitive data.
8. Your choices and requests
Depending on applicable law and the circumstances, you may ask what personal information we hold about your correspondence, request access or correction, ask for deletion where appropriate, or withdraw consent where consent is the basis for handling. Some information may need to be kept or withheld to meet a legal obligation or protect another person’s rights. We will explain the reason if a request cannot be fulfilled in full.
Email [email protected] with “Privacy request” in the subject. Tell us which correspondence or interaction your request concerns and what outcome you seek. Do not send identity documents initially. If we cannot reasonably locate the information or need to confirm that a request is yours, we will explain a proportionate verification step.
We aim to acknowledge a request within five business days and respond within 30 days. A lawful extension or complex request may require more time; if so, we will explain the reason and expected timing. If you remain concerned about our handling, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada for information about its complaint process.
9. Younger readers
Trusted Games Index covers entertainment games, not wagering services, and does not offer an account or profiling service for children. A game publisher may have age limits, content ratings or parental controls that are separate from this guide. Parents and guardians should review a publisher’s age guidance before a younger person uses its platform and should help them limit what they share online.
If a parent or guardian believes a child has sent personal information to the editorial mailbox, contact support with enough context to locate the message. We will review it and remove the correspondence where appropriate, subject to any legal record-keeping requirement.
10. Policy changes
This policy is effective 20 October 2026. We may revise it when site practices or applicable requirements change. Material changes will be published on this page with an updated effective date. If a proposed new activity would use information in a materially different way, we will explain that processing before introducing it and seek a choice where applicable law requires one.
Please revisit this page when you use the guide if you want to see the current description of our practices. Questions about an earlier version can be sent to the privacy contact in section 1.
